KSN Meteorologist Jaime Travers can be seen on weekend evenings. Jaime is no stranger to severe weather, having grown up in the Midwest. Her interest in weather stemmed from a story her dad told about how his childhood home was destroyed by the `76 tornado that ripped through the suburbs of St. Louis.
Jaime received highest honors and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. While at Georgia Tech, Jaime was a student volunteer at the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City, GA. Later, Jaime attended Saint Louis University to earn her Master’s in Meteorology. Currently, Jaime is a member of the National Weather Association (NWA) and American Meteorological Society(AMS) and has earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval (CBM).
Jaime comes to KSN after spending two years at KFVS in Cape Girardeau, MO. During her first few months there, Jaime experienced a “tornado outbreak” which included an EF4 tornado that devastated the town of Harrisburg, IL. During this event, she quickly learned how critical severe weather coverage is. Prior to KFVS, Jaime interned at KTVI in St. Louis, MO.
In Jaime’s free time, she enjoys dance, Bikram yoga, and outdoor activities while rooting for Cardinal’s baseball in the summer and watching college football in the fall. At home, Jaime enjoys cooking and a quiet evening catching up on television shows with her husband, Evan and dog, Amber.
