WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita woman wowed the coaches on “The Voice” Tuesday and earned a spot on country star, Blake Shelton’s team.
All four coaches at least think so and saw the potential in her performance and tried to land Kaleigh on their team.
She covered the Creedence Clearwater Revival song, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” and received rave reviews.
“It was definitely nerve-racking but I did everything I could to not let my nerves get to me and just stay excited and confident, and anxious, and it was the most unbelievable experience of my life getting on that stage,” said Kaleigh.
Glanton chose to join Blake Shelton’s team and moves on to be one of 48 other contestants that were selected and have a chance to win the entire competition.
“He just made me feel very welcome and confident and that he just wanted to put me on the stage, in the spotlight, and everything he said to me, I just felt I had to choose him,” said Glanton.
Kaleigh first picked up a guitar at four years old and says she got interested in music through her dad, a classical guitarist, before choosing a career in performance.
“Her style varies, it’s just very soulful, she likes the classics, but she also writes a lot of stuff. I’d call it very folky, indie. It’s very diverse,” said Howard Glanton, Kaleigh’s father.
It’s a style she’s hoping to bring to fans beyond just Kansas.
“I just want to thank everyone for the support that they’ve given me. It means everything to me and I couldn’t do it without you guys,” said Kaleigh.
The support is something that will undoubtedly grow while she continues to compete on “The Voice”.
