A spring ice storm brought down trees and power lines across much of central Kansas overnight and this morning, but like most storms this time of year, it won’t last too long, and there is actually a “bright side” to the ice.
Temperatures across Kansas at mid-day range from 18 in Goodland to 75 in Wichita. Snow is coming down in Goodland while Wichita is preparing for possible severe weather including large hail, damaging winds and possible tornadoes.
The storm system is threatening to leave up to 20 inches of snow in Colorado’s mountains and up to 11 inches in the Denver area.
