Teachman’s Take: Spring’s Short Visit

It was nice and warm across most of the state today.  It was a taste of spring!  Hopefully, you were able to enjoy some fresh air because winter is planning a comeback.

Temperatures will drop as early as Friday and continue to dip heading into the weekend.

We will have a couple of waves of moisture this weekend.  The first arrives Friday night along the Kansas/Nebraska state line.  Snow is likely here.

As this passes to the east/southeast, a brief window of freezing drizzle and sleet is likely namely to the southeast of the Turnpike.

This will cause slick roadways, so please be cautious while traveling.

As the day continues on Saturday, another wave of snow moves in from Colorado.  This is when I’m expecting most of the accumulation to happen in Kansas.  Areas close to I-70 will see the most.

Places in southern Kansas, including Wichita, won’t get much.

Join me tonight on KSN News for the latest look at this storm as it approaches and how much of a tumble temps will take over the weekend. – Chief Meteorologist Lisa Teachman
