WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Two people are dead following a murder-suicide in northeast Wichita. According to Wichita Police Department, it happened in the 900 block of Glendale around 3 p.m. Sunday.
Lt. Todd Ojile identified the victims as 21-year-old Antrese Bland and 24-year-old Aris Brown. Police said the two had an argument before the shooting.
“During the investigation, investigators learned that Mr. Brown and Ms. Bland had been dating for a year. Ms. Bland was seven months pregnant,” said Lt. Ojile. “Mr. Brown came over to the residence. We don’t know what kind of argument or what happened. Around 1 p.m., Ms. Bland went to a neighbor’s house and tried to contact family.”
Family members later tried to get a hold of Antrese.
“The family went to the residence. They got no answer at the door. Family members looked through door and saw Mr. Brown in the residence. Family forced entry and found both victims,” added Lt. Ojile.
Lt. Todd Ojile said the two had been dating for about a year and they had a history of domestic violence, and Aris Brown was recently charged with criminal threat against her.
