MAIZE, Kan. (KSNW) – A suspect who led Maize police in foot pursuit Saturday has been found.

Detective Jeff Piper of the Maize Police Department said Colt Francis Wright was found by coincidence on Sunday.

“I was off duty and shopping with my wife, and I thought I saw the suspect at Maize Road and Kellogg,” said Piper. “I called it in and WPD and sheriff’s (deputies) helped.”

“He tried to run again, but he was apprehended south of Kellogg on Maize Road,” noted Piper. “I was just driving and I said, hey, that’s our guy.”

Police were in pursuit of Wright on foot near 53rd Street North in Maize.

Sedgwick County dispatchers said both Wright and police were on foot west of the Kwik Shop.

Maize police officers said they pulled a vehicle over during a routine traffic stop. Authorities said the passenger, Wright, refused to provide personal information and then ran from the vehicle. The female driver did remain in the car.
