Woman’s body found in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police are investigating after a 27-year-old woman’s body was found in a parking lot in south Wichita.

Police said a person called 911 just after 7:40 a.m. Friday to report the body at Seneca and Crawford. Police said the case is being investigated as a homicide. She has not been identified.

“The victim, a 27-year-old female from Wichita was pronounced deceased on scene with a gunshot wound,” said Sgt. Nikki Woodrow, Wichita Police Department.

Police report that this is still an active investigation and it is unknown where the shooting occured. “We are still in search of anyone that might have seen anything suspicious in that area in the early morning hours prior to the 7:40 a.m. 911 call,” said Woodrow.


This is Wichita’s 5th homicide of the year.
