Woman injured in drive-by shooting early Friday

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a drive-by shooting early Friday.

It happened just after midnight on East Wilma Street in southeast Wichita near Harry and George Washington Boulevard.

Officers contacted a 37-year-old woman who said she was shot by two suspects while she was sleeping.

She was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries. Two other people, a 57-year-old woman and 5-year-old boy, were sleeping. They weren’t injured.
