GREAT BEND, Kan. (KSNW) – Great Bend School District’s superintendent, Brad Reed, announced his resignation and retirement at Monday’s board meeting.
The board did not say anything else about the announcement and accepted it without discussion.
Sources tell KSN the board has held several executive sessions in recent weeks, regarding Reed’s contract. However, they wouldn’t go into specifics about what they discussed.
Reed’s contract was scheduled to expire next year.
The superintendent told the board, “I’ve appreciated the opportunity to work in this community and work with the school district, and I wish all of you as much success in the future.”
Reed was hired as the superintendent back in 2014. His resignation-retirement is effective June 30, 2017.
