WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police are looking for the driver in an early morning hit-and-run that left 20-year-old Lavirgil Jones dead.
At a news briefing, police told KSN the incident happened near 2nd and Ridge at 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
Several witnesses say Jones was in the road when a car struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are looking for a white or silver car with possible damage to the front end. It was last seen driving north on Ridge.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
Jones leaves behind three children. His family and friends say his bright spirit will never be forgotten.
