WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita schools and the police are investigating a report that a gun was fired at a school bus stop.
A 14-year-old student from Truesdell allegedly fired the gun into the ground, but no one was hurt.
It happened two days ago near 26th and Madison when a girl got off the bus from school and told her parents that two kids, ages 12 and 14, had a handgun at the bus stop.
Police are investigating whether the older teen shot the gun.
“The Board of Education security has been very cooperative with working with us on the investigation and are aware of the situation and are working with us on the investigation as well,” said Officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department.
The students are from Truesdale. It’s not yet known if the gun was ever brought to school.
