Sedgwick County offering free HIV tests today and tomorrow

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – For World AIDS Day, the Sedgwick County Health Department will provide free conventional HIV testing on Wednesday  from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at 2716 W. Central, Wichita.

Walk-in or call for appointment at 316-660-7300.

World AIDS Day provides opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and memorialize those who have died. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports there are 3,096 people in Kansas and 796 people in Sedgwick County living with HIV. People may not know they have HIV.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends testing for everyone who is sexually active, or who shares needles, or who is in contact with blood.
