Man critical after being struck by car in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One man was critically injured in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in south Wichita Wednesday night. The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. on South Seneca near 42nd Street South.

Wichita police say a Honda passenger car was northbound on Seneca when it struck a 56-year-old man, who was crossing north of 42nd Street. Officers said the man was crossing in an unlighted area north of the intersection when the car, traveling in the curb lane, struck him.

The victim was taken to Via Christi St. Francis hospital in critical condition. Witnesses to the crash were being interviewed at the scene by police.

Officers closed S. Seneca between W. MacArthur and Vilm St. while they investigated the crash.
