Hernandez’s Dec. 10th pro debut cancelled

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita Olympian Nico Hernandez announced on Sunday he will not be fighting in his previously planned pro debut Dec. 10 in Omaha.

Via his social media account, Hernandez posted, “Good news and bad news…Bad news is the promoter and My team unfortunately couldn’t come to the proper terms so I will not be fighting December 10th. The good news is I will be fighting in my hometown in Kansas in January if everything works out but thank you to everybody for the support.”

Graduating from Wichita North, Hernandez competed at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he won an Olympic Bronze Medal for the United States, in the Men’s light flyweight division.
