Arrests made in Thursday morning homicide

Burger King Shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Police say they have arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy outside a laundromat.

The names of the two suspects, ages 26 and 15, arrested on suspicion of felony murder in connection with the shooting early Thursday were not immediately released Friday because they had not yet been formally charged.

Police say a 13-year-old boy told investigators that he and the 15-year-old victim were on the parking lot awaiting acquaintances when three males approached them, and one of the suspects shot the 15-year-old in the back with a handgun.

That teenager later died at a hospital. His name hasn’t been released.
