WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita YMCA held the annual We Care Thanksgiving Dinner and Coat Drive on Wednesday.
More than 1,000 people came to the downtown YMCA to have a hot meal of turkey and mashed potatoes.
Not only did they get fed a Thanksgiving meal, but they also received needed clothing to keep them warm.
“You see smiles on the faces. There’s nothing like seeing a kid, a young family, not only have a warm meal, but also go over to the racks and pick out a coat that they like. So, it’s great, said Ronn McMahon, YMCA President and CEO.
Several companies and agencies helped with the 39th annual event.
The Lord’s Diner even assisted with the preparation of the dinner.
