Update: Cause of Hutchinson apartment fire undetermined

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) – Three firefighters were hurt in an apartment fire in Hutchinson late Monday night. It happened around 11:45 p.m. at 33rd and Ridgewood at the Ridgewood Apartment Complex.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames on two adjacent apartment buildings. Both received heavy damage.

Fire crews rescued a woman from a second floor apartment, and she was transported by EMS. She was treated and released. All three firefighters were also treated and released.

An arson dog was brought in from the Wichita Fire Department to investigate. The cause of the fire is being ruled undetermined.

Both buildings and contents will most likely be a total loss according to fire officials.

The Red Cross set up a temporary shelter at the Grace Bible Church on East 33rd Avenue. Those displaced by the fire were assisted by Red Cross.
