Wichita police said the crash occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Pawnee when the 19-year-old driver of Lexus struck the moped driven by the man.

Police said the driver of the car had stopped and looked both ways before entering the intersection. He then struck the man on the moped.

The 56-year-old moped driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Officers are investigating to see if speed was a factor. There were no indications of texting and driving.
