Winter arrives in parts of Kansas overnight

GOODLAND, Kan. (KSNW) – Winter has arrived in Kansas. Overnight, the first round of wintry precipitation fell in western Kansas.

In Goodland, the National Weather Service said they had just over a half of inch of snow.

Further north in Rawlins County, KSN News viewer Miranda Simminger said they had about 4 to 5 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service in Goodland shot a time-lapse of rain changing to snow.

Roads around parts of northwest Kansas were icy in spots Friday morning.
