WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – If you been calling 911, be sure that you’re calling for the right reasons.
On Tuesday, a 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly making 54 false police calls since the beginning of September. According to jail booking reports, he has been identified as Omar J. Cain. Cain called to report a burglary in progress at a home in the 200 block of North Old Manor.
When police arrived, there was no burglary. It turns out Cain was working on the roof of that house and called 911 saying a suspect entered the house with a gun. It turned out to be false.
After looking further into Cain’s cell phone records, police found he’s made 54 false calls to 911 throughout the city.
He was booked into jail for making false police reports.
