WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One man is dead after an accident in northwest Wichita. It happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday at 15th and McLean between a Ford F-250 and a Honda Prelude.
The Honda had two victims. One of the men inside died. The 16-year-old driver of the Honda was transported in critical condition. He is now in stable condition.
Three other men in the truck were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
“Witnesses say a small Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on McLean, and it lost control and went into oncoming traffic and struck a southbound pickup truck that was pulling a construction trailer,” said Lt. Randy Reynolds, Wichita Police Department.
The names of the person who died hasn’t been released pending positive identification from the Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office
McLean between 13th and 21st Street was shut down as crews investigated Monday afternoon.
