WASHINGTON (NBC News) – Just hours after the most stunning victory in modern U.S. presidential history, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are agreeing: Our nation needs to unify.
Trump claimed victory Wednesday morning without the gloating and mocking that won him the White House.
“I pledged to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans,” he said.
Hillary Clinton called Trump last night and publically conceded hours later.
“This is painful and it will be for a long time,” she said, adding “Donald Trump is going to be our President. We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”
Now, Trump’s agenda moves forward. He has vowed to quickly end Obamacare, build a wall along the border with Mexico and slash taxes.
