Woman dragged trying to stop carjacking

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A woman is recovering after being dragged while trying to prevent a carjacking.

Wichita police say it happened just after six a.m. at the Valero Gas Station in the 700 block of North Ridge Road.

A 37-year-old woman says she was sitting in her car when a man started to attack her.

Punching and choking the woman, she says the man drug her from her vehicle and started to drive off.

The woman hung on to the side of the vehicle and was drug about a block down the side of the road.

She was taken to a local hospital with possible internal injuries, where she remains now.

Police say the vehicle is a 2005 Red Kia Rio with a tag reading 081 HAC.
