Man wanted for questioning in Harvey Co. triple homicide

NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) – The Harvey County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a man wanted for questioning in a triple homicide that occurred on Sunday.

Jereme Lee Nelson has warrants issued through Butler and Sedgwick Counties. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.  According to a report from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Nelson has prior convictions for meth, firearms, burglary, and theft.

He may be driving a cream color Lincoln MKZ bearing Kansas tags 670HHJ or cream color 2005 Cadillac Escalade bearing Texas tags SKZ229.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s department identified the victims as 33-year-old Travis Street, 37-year-old Angela Graevs and the couple’s Newton friend, 52-year-old Richard Prouty. Authorities said the couple who were shot to death along with another man in rural central Kansas was facing drug and child endangerment charges.
