WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A gas leak has forced the closure of a stretch of I-135 in Wichita.

Sedgwick County dispatchers confirm a construction crew working in the area of southbound I-135 at Pawnee struck a gas line, forcing the closure of part of the interstate shortly before 6 p.m.

Southbound traffic on I-135 is being forced to exit at Harry Street.

In addition, the eastbound and westbound ramps from Kellogg to southbound I-135 also have been closed.

Dispatchers did not know how long the area will be closed to traffic.
