WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A suspect in an officer-involved shooting and robbery back in September made his first court appearance Monday.
Andrew Villa was shot seven times on Sept. 18 after police say he tried to rob the Johnson’s convenience store near 53rd and Meridian. Villa was running from Wichita police when a sergeant opened fire near 29th and Arkansas.
In Sedgwick County Monday, Villa was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of flee and or attempt to elude, aggravated endangering of child, attempted robbery and attempted burglary.
Villa’s preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 15. His bond has been set at $100,000.
