EL DORADO, Kan. (KSNW) – An El Dorado Police officer has been released on bond after being arrested on suspicion of domestic battery.

El Dorado Police Lt. Tim Baker told KSN News Monday night the officer was arrested last Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.  He was released on bond the following day.

Baker said the officer currently is on administrative leave while the case is being investigated by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. He said the El Dorado Police Department is not conducting the investigation since to do so would create the appearance of a conflict of interest.

The El Dorado Police Department will conduct an internal investigation into the incident as well.
