Garden City police involved in chase with wanted suspect

GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KSNW) – Garden City police were involved in a chase with a wanted man Thursday night. It happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 900 block of N. 9th.

Officers received a tip about a wanted person and responded to the home on 9th. Police say a green Saturn S-Series left the home driving recklessly. Officers attempted to stop the Saturn, but the person inside refused and a pursuit was initiated in the 1100 block of N. 9th St.

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle attempted to intentionally crash into police vehicles on several occasions. The Saturn became disabled in the 1600 block of W. Jenny Street, and the driver fled on foot.

Police were able to identify the driver as 20-year-old Emmanuel Holguin after talking with a woman in the suspect vehicle. As officers were checking the area for Holguin, they located him hiding on top of a roof of a residence in the 1600 block of W. Jenny St.

He was arrested for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, interference with a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and kidnapping.
