WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said an 18-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after an argument with her 17-year-old boyfriend.
It happened Wednesday evening around 6:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Sayles.
Initially, the 17-year-old man told police he and his girlfriend were playing with a gun when it went off.
“Through further investigation of the situation, it was determined an argument ensued between the 17-year-old man and the 18-year-old female when the gun discharged,” said Officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department.
The woman was transported to the hospital. Her condition is unknown.
The suspect was booked for aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
