Update: Sedgwick County deputy charged with assault

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Sedgwick County deputy who was arrested Oct. 12 on charges of domestic violence has been charged.

The deputy was charged Wednesday morning with aggravated assault, a felony, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said, at the time of his arrest, the deputy was a commissioned officer and had been with the department for over 20 years.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9.
