Mountain lion sightings in Valley Center

VALLEY CENTER, Kan. (KSNW) – The Valley Center Police Department said there was a mountain lion sighting in Valley Center Monday night.

It happened in the 1100 block of South Meridian. The mountain lion was seen by a Valley Center officer as it walked along a tree row.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks said they do not count such sighting without some sort of proof such as photos or prints.

Mountain lions are known to travel through Kansas. If you do see a mountain lion, you are encouraged to call 911.
