One killed in crash in western Sedgwick County

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) – One person was killed in a crash near Goddard Thursday night. It happened around 6:30 183rd Street West and MacArthur Road.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said a Cadillac hit a pickup at the intersection. The driver of the car was a 60-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the car, and the driver of the truck were both taken to the hospital in serious condition. An 8-year-old child in the car had minor injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine if the car ran the stop sign.

“We’re trying to nail down exactly if the driver of the Cadillac came to a complete stop and continued or slowed and continued through the intersection,” said Captain Mark Pierce, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
