What is your plan to deal with the Kansas Budget?
I plan to work with both Republican and Democrat legislators to develop a common sense budget that is free of tax increases. This can be accomplished by reducing unnecessary positions, programs, and expenditures. My goal would be to see Kansas operating with a surplus, then reduce and/or eliminating the Kansas income tax.
What kind of changes do you support in rewriting the school funding formula? Do you support additional funding for Kansas schools?
The problem with Kansas’ education spending is that it’s mismanaged before it even leaves Topeka. I believe that schools ARE underfunded and teachers are underpaid. That can be corrected through attrition of state level employees and eliminating positions in Topeka that local districts can fill themselves.
What is your number one priority for the upcoming legislative session and how do you plan to address it?
Liberty is my primary political focus. Every bill brought before me, I will ask: “Does this bring Kansas closer to Liberty or further away?” I will always vote on the side of more freedom.
