I have two grown sons, both married and two grandchildren.

What is your plan to deal with the Kansas Budget?

The entire legislature needs to be fiscally responsible. We need to use common sense and work across party lines to increase revenues.

What kind of changes do you support in rewriting the school funding formula? Do you support additional funding for Kansas schools?

We need to stop block grant funding and get back to a per student formula. I suggest we start with the old formula and improve the things that were problematic in the past.

What is your number one priority for the upcoming legislative session and how do you plan to address it?

We need to stop the madness and vote against Brownback’s failed experiment. Jobs were not created and our State’s credit rating has been down graded repeatedly. What business would be interested in moving to a state that fails to fund public schools, fails to take care of the sick and disabled, fails to tax fairly and fails to take care of their crumbling infrastructure? The legislature needs to increase revenues and close the income tax loophole.
