What is your plan to deal with the Kansas Budget?

Come to a compromise agreement with my fellow legislators and then vote for it.

What kind of changes do you support in rewriting the school funding formula? Do you support additional funding for Kansas schools?

Retain parts of the old formula that worked. Incentivize new programs that support the Kansas Board of Education’s New Vision For Education Plan. In addition, I would propose establishing reserves for an extraordinary need fund for unforeseen expenses. Not knowing what the new Vision Plan’s costs might be, additional funding may have to be considered.

What is your number one priority for the upcoming legislative session and how do you plan to address it?

Restore funds for emergency disaster relief across the State as a result of property loss due to natural disasters–especially in situations when FEMA does not respond.
