KSN Threat Tracker for Sunday, October 16, 2016

10:00PM What season is it really? A little of everything this week, the only thing we are missing is snow. More record warmth expected tomorrow! Back to reality later in the week. Make sure to check in with us on KSN News at 10 for a look at your work week forecast. You can always check your most up to date KSN custom forecast by clicking here.

7:55PM A summer-like day is expected tomorrow with record or near record highs likely. It won’t be nearly as warm on Tuesday as a cold front ushers in more seasonable air.

5:30PM More records being broken this afternoon! Check it out below. More to come throughout the evening.

Russell 90 degrees (1958)

Salina 88 degrees (1958)

Dodge City 99 degrees (1991) – All time record for the month of October.

3:42PM Record breaking warmth!! Wichita Eisenhower National Airport hit 90 degrees which broke the record set back in 1995.

2:40PM No records yet but it’s delightfully warm this afternoon under sun drenched skies and a gusty South wind. Enjoy!

10:30AM We have the potential to tie or break record highs across Kansas tomorrow, just before our next cold front arrives. You can see more details in my web video here.

9AM High temperatures are going to be about 15-20 degrees above normal for this mid-October day! Phew… Enjoy the warmth, but take it easy! Catch more of your forecast on our app here.

7:30AM The big story today is the high fire danger across western Kansas due to exceptionally warm, dry, and breezy conditions, so please be cautious. For the rest of the state, we’ll still see mostly sunny skies, strong winds, and near-record highs!
