WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 18-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday evening. It happened in the 1900 block of East Pawnee around 6 p.m. near the Dollar General.

Two witnesses tell police that several men were shooting at each other in the parking lot. Officers arrived and found shell casings in the lot.

A few minutes later, police responded to a walk-in shooting at St. Joseph Hospital. The victim reports that he was walking with his 18-year-old friend who climbed into a silver Hyundai with three unknown people at that location.

“The victim stated his friend was selling drugs, and the car began to take off. His friend jumped from the car, and an individual from inside the car began to shoot at them. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries to his leg,” said Sgt. Nikki Woodrow, Wichita Police Department.

Right now, police are still looking for witnesses and suspects to the shooting.
