OLATHE, Kan. (AP) – Authorities say two Missouri men are now charged in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a Kansas sheriff’s deputy.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that 24-year-old William Luth, of Blue Springs, and 21-year-old Brady Newman-Caddell, of Independence, are each charged with two counts of rape and single counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sodomy.

The department says the deputy wasn’t in uniform when she was abducted late Friday from the parking lot of the detention center in Olathe, Kansas, as she headed to work. She was sexually assaulted and released about two hours later in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

The men were arrested in Missouri Monday night. They are each being held in Jackson County on $1 million bond.
