Power restored to 6,000 Westar customers

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – More than 6,000 Westar Energy customers in the Wichita area lost power about 12:40 p.m. Friday. The power has since been restored according to Westar.

The areas affected included south of Pawnee between S. West Street and S. Hydraulic.

A spokesperson for Westar said the outage was caused by a squirrel in a transformer.
