One man injured after drive-by shooting at Boston Park

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 20-year-old man was taken to Wesley Medical Center after he was struck by a bullet while playing basketball at Boston Park. It happened in the 6600 block of East Zimmerly around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A 31-year-old woman and 52-year-old woman told police they were at a nearby apartment when shots were fired in the park.

The women tell police that four men in a white Chevy Malibu or Impala fired at two men in a red SUV. The witnesses tell police that all the men left the scene.

Police arrived to investigate. Shortly after, they were called to Wesley Medical Center. A 20-year-old man told officers he was playing basketball when he was struck in the hip by a bullet at the park. His injuries are non-life threatening. He was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
