What is your plan to deal with the Kansas Budget?

Immediately return the 330,000 LLCs exempted from paying state taxes to the tax rolls. Repeal the largest tax increase in state history, passed in 2015 gradually as money comes in to fill the state’s budget gaps.

What kind of changes do you support in rewriting the school funding formula? Do you support additional funding for Kansas schools?

Change the school funding formula to one closely based upon the formula that existed prior to the change to block grant funding. I support additional funding for USD 259, as the move to block grants hurt USD 259 financially. The change hurt some districts a lot more than others, and USD 259 was one of the districts that suffered from the change in funding.

What is your number one priority for the upcoming legislative session and how do you plan to address it?

The state budget. Generate revenue by immediately putting the 330,000 LLCs exempt from taxation back on the tax rolls and gradually repealing the 2015 tax increase.
