71-year-old Kansas woman dies after motorcycle hit by Escape

BENNINGTON, Kan. (KSNW) – A 71-year-old Kansas woman has died following a crash Sunday evening in Dickinson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:15 Pp.m. at K-18 and 140th Road, just east of Bennington.

The patrol said a 2017 Ford Escape, driven by 41-year-old Tonya Cruce, of Abilene, was southbound on Barn Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign at K-18. The Escape entered the roadway and was struck by a 2000 Honda Motorcycle, driven by 71-year-old Joyce Morgan of New Cambria, Kansas.

KHP said Cruce was wearing a seat belt, and Morgan was wearing a helmet.

Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.
