WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita city leaders are considering taking action over the growing number of food trucks. Right now, food trucks are very limited in where they can be, and they must have a permit for each location.
So, the city is considering a new ordinance that would require just one license, and it would let trucks park on some streets. The ordinance would allow no parking near a restaurant that is open. It is something that one food vendor said he already considers.
“I’ve always tried to respect the restaurant owners and stay a nice distance away from them just out of respect and respecting their businesses,” said Arturo Ray, U-Hungry food truck owner.
The ordinance is still being changed. It could be another or so before it goes to the city council.
