Teenager kidnapped from Wendy’s, suspect arrested

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A man is now behind bars after trying to kidnap a 17-year-old woman.

It happened at 11:20 p.m. Friday night at the Wendy’s located on West Central.

Witnesses say the two were arguing at the Wendy’s where the victim works. They say the man picked up the teenager, put her on his shoulder and started walking toward his vehicle.

Although she was fighting and trying to get away from the man, the witnesses say he put the victim in his car and left the store.

Officers found the car located in the 1700 block of South Meridian, where the two were still inside.

The man was arrested and booked for kidnapping and battery.

The victim had minor injuries and scratches from trying to get away.
