Man arrested after breaking into northwest Wichita Target to steal iPads

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 25-year-old man was arrested for breaking into the northwest Wichita Target Thursday morning. It happened around 3:30 a.m. at the store located near 21st and Maize.

Police said they received a burglary in progress call at the Target. When they arrived, Target asset protection told them the suspect broke into the store through the front door. He took several iPads after breaking a case.

Through surveillance video, police were able to get the vehicle and suspect description.

Police located the suspect near 21st and 135th Street West. They chased the suspect at high-speeds until the pursuit was called off.

Later information led police to the 2700 block of West St. Louis. Police found the suspect vehicle with an iPad inside, and they found the suspect inside the home. He surrendered for burglary and felony theft.

According to police arrest sheets, he has been identified as 25-year-old Johnathan L. Boyd.

Police said all the iPads were recovered and given back to the store.
