Small plane makes emergency landing in northeast Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita Fire Department responded to northeast Wichita after a small plane went down in a field east of Jabara Airport. It happened around 11 a.m. The plane was located near 29th and Greenwich in a field. There were no injuries to the pilot and passenger.

“It’s very unusual for that to happen out here. We are close to Jabara, but other than that, we haven’t experienced a plane crash before,” said Debra FitzGerald, daughter of land owner.

Officials said the pilot called in mechanical issues, clipped a fence, and landed in a field. Here is the plane’s registration information from the FAA.
