Motorcyclist killed in south Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department said a 30-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident early Thursday morning. It happened near 63rd Street South and Clifton around 2 a.m. The rider has been identified as Marcus K. Franklin of Wichita.

The sheriff’s department said the 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle was westbound on 63rd South when the rider failed to negotiate the curve near Clifton and lost control of the motorcycle. Franklin, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and ended up in the north ditch. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
