WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A woman escapes after a man forced his way into her home. It happened Saturday night around 9:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Gold.

The 59-year-old victim says a man forced his way into her home through the front door. The victim was able to get away and run to a neighbor’s house.

The suspect tried to get into the neighbor’s home but was unable. He then tried to flee in his vehicle, but witnesses blocked his way. The suspect got out of his vehicle and waited for officers to arrive. The man was booked for criminal damage and aggravated burglary.

The woman did not suffer any injuries from the incident, although her front door was damaged.

Authorities are not sure if the suspect knew the victim or if she was chosen randomly.
