Clearwater man makes court appearance in deadly hit-and-run case

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Clearwater man made his first appearance in deadly hit-and-run case in Sedgwick County Court on Wednesday.

Cary Whitlock was arrested Friday for failure to stop at an accident resulting in death of Jeremy Napier near Clearwater on September 14, 2014. The accident happened on 103 Street South between Ridge and Hoover.  The sheriff’s department said the arrest happened after a culmination of a lengthy investigation.

Whitlock was charged with failure to stop at accident, resulting in great bodily harm.

His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing. It is scheduled for Oct. 20.

He’s free from jail on $25,000 bond. No defense attorney is listed in court records.
