ORLANDO, Florida (WESH) – A teacher at a Florida daycare has been charged with criminal neglect after two toddlers wandered away from the center and got very close to a busy highway.
The two girls wandered off when the group was returning inside from the playground, and the teacher did not notice.
By the time she realized they were gone, the girls had wandered across a field, through a parking lot, into the street, and into the parking lot of a nearby convenience store.
They were heading for the highway when a customer grabbed them and took them into the store where school staff found them about fifteen minutes later.
Little Panda’s Development Center owner Aurora Gomez fired the teacher immediately and is making changes to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
